Ouellette Car Cruise rolls down Riverside Drive August 13
Festival Plaza is already at capacity!
WINDSOR, ON: Rev your engines — vintage and classic cars will be rolling down Ouellette Avenue and Riverside Drive on Friday, August 13, 2021.
New for 2021, the sixth annual Ouellette Car Cruise will move both ways on Ouellette Avenue and Riverside Drive, providing even more viewing opportunities for passersby. Hot rods, muscle cars, classic cars and vintage vehicles will take to the route at 6 p.m. The route starts at Riverside Drive and Goyeau Street, runs south on Ouellette Avenue to Tecumseh Road East, east to Pillette Road and west on Riverside Drive to Ouellette Avenue.
“We’re thrilled to be driving through yet another summer marred by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Brian Yeomans, chair of the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association. “COVID cancelled a lot of things, but it couldn’t put the brakes on the Ouellette Car Cruise.”
Beginning at 1 p.m. on August 13, registered vehicles will gather at Riverfront Festival Plaza, with overflow parking in the Caesars Windsor’s Red Lot (Riverside Drive East at Montreuil). Only registered cars have access to the Plaza and Lot, but anyone can join in the ride at 6 p.m.
The cruise, which has seen exponential growth since its inception six years ago has, for the past three years, been made possible through the generous stewardship of presenting sponsor Crawford General Contracting.
“The history of the automobile is deeply connected to Windsor,” said Steve Crawford, owner of Crawford General Contracting. “We’re proud to support the Ouellette Car Cruise and allow Windsorites to connect with this part of their history.”
Space is extremely limited due to COVID-19 restrictions, and Riverfront Festival Plaza is already at capacity, so participants are encouraged to register soon to secure their presence at Caesars Windsor’s Red Lot. Viewers are asked to maintain physical distancing while along the cruise route.
